Wordless Wednesday – Drawing Mos the Dog Video

Remember the post where I showed photos of my work in progress when I drew Mos the dog? Now, I have it in video form. I recorded myself doing it, so you can see almost every pastel and pastel pencil stroke I made… and the back of my head.

Please, like my video and share it! My next video will hopefully be of me drawing Thunder from 2BrownDawgs.com!

If there is no music to the video, I apologize. When I downloaded the music, it said it was public domain, free for use. However, YouTube says it is disputed by a third party.

Very nice. Loved watching the creative process. How long did it actually take you to do that?

Thanks! πŸ™‚ A finished drawing such as this one only takes me a couple of hours, assuming I can find a couple of uninterrupted quiet hours. But if something I draw doesn’t come out right about a quarter of the way through, I start all over and the process can take many more hours. The sketches actually take longer because I draw several sketches before I get to one that I think looks right. Both Mos and Thunder took me about 6 sketches.

I wish I had half your artistic talent!

Coming from an artistic family (my Dad was an Editorial Cartoonist, Ray Osrin) and I actually draw I COMPLETELY appreciate this. What I appreciate most is that your work is NOT COMPUTER GENERATED. There are so many “artists” now who actually have computer generated work that the COMPUTER is drawing and they aren’t.
I used to do drawings from photographs but now I NEVER will again because yours sure run rings around mine!!!
    FABULOUS!

I love your work. πŸ™‚ You know that if my own mom weren’t a pet portrait artist, I’d have you working on one of my critters?

Brilliant ! I liked the drawing of the nose, that’s when it all began to come to life…everyone who comes into our Happy Dogs shop looks at the portrait you did of my Westie Dougie – shame you can’t be our resident artist !!! (us in UK!)
